On July 6 and 7

Rome was tinged with red to pay homage to the great Italian designer.

The occasion was the celebration of the 45^th anniversary of his firm.

Celebrations started at the Area Pacis museum with the opening of the “Valentino in Rome: 45 years of style” exhibition: a retrospective display of a countless range of dresses and records going over the history of the designer and his precious contribution to the fashion industry. During the soirée in the Tempio di Venere the guests enjoyed the wonderful show  “The birth of Beauty”, an ethereal ballet performed by dancers wearing gorgeous red gowns by Valentino obviously.   The day after more than a thousand guests, from the fashion and show business, were present at the long-awaited runway show and later at the gala in the Parco dei Daini of Villa Borgese.

Celebrations ended on Sunday with the presentation of the new Valentino fragrance: “Rock’ n rose”.  

Valentino’s fans will be happy to know that a new book, published by Tashen, is just out. It’s titled “A great Italian history” and is entirely dedicated to Valentino.
