Casual or smart boots, flats or high heeled, in leather, suede or gum… In any case boots are one of the most popular winter woman’s accessories. Whichever your style is in your wardrobe will be always a pair of comfortable, practical, seductive, irresistible boots (maybe more than one!).

Boots have always been an instrument of seduction for women, but their history is connected with man’s wardrobe. Complement to military uniforms, perfect footwear for hunting and sport, indispensable accessory for British gentleman, boot conquered also woman’s fashion. From the beginning of the Sixties, when Balenciaga took them to haute couture fashion shows, boots had definitively mastered the Seventies, usually matched with miniskirts.

A stylish stiletto version or a comfortable raining boot, the possible solutions are so many that they can satisfy the tastes of all women from the most sophisticated to the most sporty one. Here there are the must have versions of the fall-winter 2008/09.

Fringed boots:

Undoubtedly fringes are the strongest trend of the fall-winter 2008/09. They became very popular last summer and they will come back into fashion also next summer 2009, both on accessories and on clothes. Suggested by many designers, among the most successful items there are Gucci boots of sure, designed by Frida Giannini. They have a folk and rock style like all the new Gucci Babouska collection.

The possible styles are numerous, we can move freely from folk and gypsy to boho chic, certainly all in a seventies style interpretation. Rock and glamour boot, as those of Gucci, wore on a trendy mini dress, on a mini skirt or with a pair of jeans for a Pocahontas city version, even with a matching amulet-bijoux and plaits.

The suede boot:

Special material of this year as regards bags, shoes and accessories, suede stands even better on boots.

It can be used to make soft and low items, or to make long and narrow high heeled boots, suede gives a sophisticated and refined touch wrapping around the leg like a smooth glove.

Wedge-heeled boots:

Among wedges and platforms (that are one of the most popular trends of this year) as regards boots emerge an innovation: we are speaking of boots with a narrow boot leg above and that below become larger and larger as far as covering the thin wedge. Among the most famous items there is that one proposed by Balenciaga. Provided with a double buckle on the calf, the peculiarity of this shoe is the pointy toe in contrast with the round shape dominating this winter’s fashion. Those trendy and original boots are evidently dedicated to the most attentive fashion victims with the most original and showy style. They are simply wonderful!

One of the major latest fashions of this fall/winter is tartan. Not really a novelty but a comeback. Tartan appears this year on kilts, blazers and coats, handbags, shoes and accessory. Everything is allowed when it comes of tartan.

Since men are attentive to fashion and trends as well as women, they wear the popular fabric of the Scottish Highlands too. The D&G woman’s fall/winter collection is full of tartan patterns on chiffon dresses and wool separates.

The same thing for the man’s collection by the duo of Dolce & Gabbana that created plenty of jackets, coats, pants and shirt in tartan, from the classic red to thin colours. The man dressed by D&G wears informal wool blazers and comfortable trousers by day and for the night he turns into a contemporary dandy man with tartan tuxedo, bow tie and slim trousers.

We are still on December but fashion as usual forestalls seasons. Our wardrobe is ready for winter but designers had already show their next year summer collections. When people are still buying coats and jumpers they already know what the hot season will them reserve as regard fashion and trends.
