Sanremo, the Italian prestigious music festival, started yesterday. The model Alessia Piovan, who hosted the event next to Paolo Bonolis, showed up four sensational looks that have been created just for her by Alberta Ferretti. That was non the first time on the Ariston Theatre for the style of the great Italian designer that was worn in the previous edition of the program by Michelle Hunziker and Andrea Osvart.

The first outfit was an amazing strapless red gown with sensual slit.

The second look brought the sparkle of Charleston style on the stage with its fringes, decorations and Swarovski crystals. In this case the dress was a modifies creation belonging to the Alberta Ferretti 2009 Spring/summer collection.

Metallic effect for the third gown with bustier top and pleated skirt and finally a row of purple ruffles for the last dress.

Venezia Film Festival officially opened on the 27th of August. After the overture ceremony of the previous night, first media event caught the attention on Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Tilda Swinton all posing on a photo call for the presentation of their last movie, “Burn after reading”.

Tilda Swinton wore a Christian Dior dress for the press conference. It was a particular yellow dress enriched with coloured details and orange and turquoise appliqués.

Actress Tilda Swinton picked in fact an Alberta Ferretti long pleated mustard colour dress for the red carpet.

Alberta Ferretti style has been picked by Claudia Schiffer too, who wore an elegant pearl grey one shoulder dress for the premier.

It’s raining purple on the fall-winter 2008/09 fashion. It’s been a while since purple became one of the trendiest colours of the world of fashion after a gloomy period.

Thanks to its strong soul, purple can be easily used either as a colour on its own, or creating wierd and unusual matchings with a strongly positive impact, or, then again, with various nuances. Chameleonic colour, it pleases different styles performing either softer tonalities or darker, according to the different seasons.

Christian Dior, Alberta Ferretti and Emilio Pucci picked purple for their fall-winter coming fashion shows making the most out of this incredible colour which, together with its nuances, is going to be the trendiest of next cold season.

The Cannes Film Festival has concluded and has given us a myriad of fabulous red carpets, each of which we saw a parade of celebrities with dresses and accessories of the best designers of the international panorama.

As always the Italian designer labels have been selected from numerous stars who have worn the creations of the most prestigious designers like Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani… obviously other great international fashion houses are not missed among which one of the preffered ones have been Christian Dior.

The 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival has officially opened and has started off with the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ as its first event.  Crossing the red carpet were a lot of celebrities that have come to show off their marvelous out-fits.  There are a lot of designer names that have been awarded the preferance of the actresses and the celebrities that have participated in the Cannes Film Festival in their creations.

Among these a radiant Eva Longoria has shown off a lively turquouise coloured dress from the Spring Summer collection by Versace Couture.  In Versace the model Bar Refaeli as well.

Mischa Barton, at Cannes to promote her new film ‘You and I’, has participated in the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ wearing a dark indigo coloured silk dress from the Alberta Ferretti Fall 2008 collection.

And we conclude with the queen of the event, or better yet the protagonist of the film ‘Blindness’, Cate Blanchett who wore, for the occasion, a creation by Giorgio Armani composed from soft and voluminous rouches gathered in a bouquet on the shoulder.

One of the most awaited events, that take place every year in Manhattan, the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, was opened just a few nights ago.   The theme of this edition is “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy”. Guest of honour Giorgio Armani also took the first place on the podium of all the designers that have dressed the majority of the stars present at this event.

Julia Robert arrived to the show in a beautiful dress by Giorgio Armani, a creation of high fashion.  Beyonce was wearing an smooth pink sinuous dress with the top part embroided.  Katie Holmes in a vintage creation from the 1993 collection and Tom Cruise in a suit fulfilled in the measurements, were both wearing Giorgio Armani.  David and Victoria Beckham, John Mayer, George Clooney and his companion Sarah Larson,with a 1997 vintage, were all in Armani.

Gisele Bunchen was entrusted to be dressed by the designer Donatella Versace (who also attended the event), and wore a silky smooth seductive dress with a intense back and neckline while Molly Sims wore a yellow dress with the nickline cris-crossing on the back from the spring/summer collection.  Jennifer Lopez chose a one shoulder dress by Alberta Ferretti.

Two cinema icons for one fashion icon: Roger Vivier

Gweneth Paltrow was at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York for the premier of the new film “Ironman”, held on the 29 April.  She flaunted one of the fantastic clutch bags from Roger Vivier.  Liv Tyler on the other hand had chosen a pair of suede Roger Vivier sandals.

Also on the 29 of April, but this time in Sydney, for the press conference for the launch of her new album, “Spirit”, in the Australian market.  For the occasion, held at the Contemporary Art Museum, Leona was wearing a splendid dress, in white chiffon, by Versace.  This empire style evening dress, is enhanced by the embroidery of the white stones.  The effect was absolutely dazzling!

For the premier of her new film “Speed Racer” on the 29 April in London, the actress was wearing a black sleevless dress, from the next fall/winter collection by Alberta Ferretti.

Peplum-dresses, soft tuniques, impalpable blouses, light petticoats gently wrap strict and sinuous silhouettes that are at the same time brushed by seductive drapery, pleats, flowing gatherings and embossed fabric.
Jais and crystals embellish the straps of the mini-dresses and are also fixed on the flowing fabrics that are gathered on the hip of modern revision of the peplum.

The dominant colours is that of the different tones of grey, emerald green, sand and gold, creating soft shades. The prints, like painting, reproduce ancient Greek statues, while the embroideries recreate the memory of the friezes of the Acropolis in Athens, a place of mythological muses and inspirations that still survive in our days.
