Welcome to the flared pants, bellbottom jeans and wide-legged pants, and the bigger the better. The new season sees a great comeback: the bellbottom trend, that has dominated the catwalks for the new Spring/Summer collection and now it is ready to establish itself in the windows of all fashion shops and in our closets.

From the tight thigh and flared bottom, in perfect 70’s style, to the wide-legged, the bellbottom pants are the latest trend (or it would be better to say: the big comeback) of the new season.

Parisian band Rock&Roll will star in Roberto Cavalli’s Spring 2008 menswear campaign, which will debut later this month.

The band is composed of five members: lead singer Gricha Berekachvili, bass player Luc Arnal, guitarist and second voice Matthias Cadéac d’Arbaud, Vincent-John Soimaud on the tambourine, and drummer Paul Louis Viguier. Cavalli said the quintet “embodies the aristocratic-chic Parisian style and the energy and force of rock music.” That’s the reason why he has linked the image of this band (named Rock&Roll Best New Band of 2006 by French rock magazine Inrockuptible) to his men’s collection.

The top was presented on the catwalk by an exceptional super model, the rocker Skin, at the show of the Fall/Winter 2007/2008 women’s collection. Mounted in 18k white gold, the diamonds embellishing the top comprise a total of 254 carats, while the top’s value is estimated to be approximately 1.5 million U.S. dollars.

This unique creation has been auctioned, as an integral part of the official opening ceremonies, at the 2007 edition of International Jewellery Week that is taking place in Dubai. By invitation only, the exclusive private preview saw the presence of the members of the Royal Family of the United Arab Emirates.
