At the Cannes Film Festival Roberto Cavalli dresses haven’t for sure been missing, the creations so desired by the celebrities designed by Roberto Cavalli has really made him the protagonist on the red carpet. In occasion of the “Paris, Not France” cocktail party Paris Hilton wore a floral printed maxi dress from the absolutely adorable Roberto Cavalli spring/summer collection.

 
Penelope Cruz chose a creation signed John Richmond for the Hollywood Domino Party in occasion of the 62°edition of the Film festival. The Spanish actress wore a white silk chiffon gown in mermaid shape with crystal decorated bodice.

Yesterday we saw celebrities wearing Alberta Ferretti in occasion of this 62° edition of Cannes Film Festival. Instead today we’ll focus on an other designer who has rather conquered the red carpet of this special event: of course we are talking about Roberto Cavalli.

His unique style has really been the protagonist at Cannes this year. Numerous stars have in fact chosen Roberto Cavalli dresses for the events and premieres.

For instant, Asia Argento, who we spoke about wearing Alberta Ferretti in the previous post. For the premiere of Vengeance and the Chopart Trophy Event the actress wore two different Roberto Cavalli creations.

In occasion of the Chopard Trophy Event celebrities as Eva Erzigova, Clotide Coureau and the model Moran Atias all wore Roberto Cavalli gowns.

Also Eleonora Abagnato presented herself in Roberto Cavalli for the Chopard Trophy Event as well as the premiere of Looking for Eric.

At the yacht of the designer himself the famous American singer Mariah Carey showed up in a chain printed Roberto Cavalli maxi dress looking splendid.

When speaking about the red carpet it’s impossible not to talk about fashion. On May the 12 th Cannes film festival started and celebrities have already given our eyes satisfaction with their extraordinary looks and beauties. Let’s start our discovery on the red carpets and the events it follows, with the Alberta Ferretti creations which have been chosen by many Italian stars and more.

Member of this edition’s jury of the cinematic event, Asia Argento, wore a pink delicious and refine Alberta Ferretti dress with grey details and a silver coloured Fendi clutch.

Among other local celebrities to wear Alberta Ferretti we find Alessia Piovan, that already at the Sanremo Festival chosen the Italian designer, now at Cannes wearing two marvellous creations. For the Chopard party the model wore a cerulean blue drape dress with the smallest bracelets. The second still blue but this time a slightly more eye-catching shade for the premiere of Up, also this one signed Alberta Ferretti. 

The really irresistible Iman Gucci sandal, is one of the principal models in the new spring/summer collection 2009 designed by Frida Giannini. This super feminine gladiator is 105 mm high plus the plateau.

Combined with a python printed blouse, also this one from the Gucci s/s collection 2009, and ankle long trousers Rihanna succeed in wearing these extreme high heeled sandals with such coolness. Except the ones chosen by Rihanna, the sandal is available in different colours and versions. Such as Rocky black leather with metallic details in gold colour.

The Utopia handbag by Roberto Cavalli with its rounded design that reminds about a saddle, is within the most distinguished bags this spring/summer 2009. The country touch given by the long and numerous fringes are mixed with the studs to give the celebrated bag as well a hint of punk.

Lots of celebs took part to the Vanity Fair party and lots of them picked Gucci outfits. In particular, we are going to show you singer Rihanna who’s mad about Gucci maison and chose the printed maxi dress and one of the amazing clutch Babouska, both of them part of the fall winter 2008/09 Gucci collection.

Another premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, another red carpet.  Also this time we take a look at the most interesting looks of the stars who crossed the red carpet.

For the premiere of the film Blindness Eva Longoria chose a turquoise dress by Versace.  For the presentation of Kung Fu Panda she chose to wear an fairy-tale one shoulder dress in an ivory colour marked with silver detail and ending in tulle, from the summer 2008 collection again by Versace.  Definitely a red carpet style!

Lucy Liu on the other hand chose a dress by Roberto Cavalli. The dress is a creation from the Fall 2008 collection with enriching flower embroidery.

Also at the premiere, the beautiful Indian actress, Aishwarya Rai,  chose a luxurious embroided dress by Giorgio Armani.

The 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival has officially opened and has started off with the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ as its first event.  Crossing the red carpet were a lot of celebrities that have come to show off their marvelous out-fits.  There are a lot of designer names that have been awarded the preferance of the actresses and the celebrities that have participated in the Cannes Film Festival in their creations.

Among these a radiant Eva Longoria has shown off a lively turquouise coloured dress from the Spring Summer collection by Versace Couture.  In Versace the model Bar Refaeli as well.

Mischa Barton, at Cannes to promote her new film ‘You and I’, has participated in the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ wearing a dark indigo coloured silk dress from the Alberta Ferretti Fall 2008 collection.

And we conclude with the queen of the event, or better yet the protagonist of the film ‘Blindness’, Cate Blanchett who wore, for the occasion, a creation by Giorgio Armani composed from soft and voluminous rouches gathered in a bouquet on the shoulder.

Two cinema icons for one fashion icon: Roger Vivier

Gweneth Paltrow was at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York for the premier of the new film “Ironman”, held on the 29 April.  She flaunted one of the fantastic clutch bags from Roger Vivier.  Liv Tyler on the other hand had chosen a pair of suede Roger Vivier sandals.

Also on the 29 of April, but this time in Sydney, for the press conference for the launch of her new album, “Spirit”, in the Australian market.  For the occasion, held at the Contemporary Art Museum, Leona was wearing a splendid dress, in white chiffon, by Versace.  This empire style evening dress, is enhanced by the embroidery of the white stones.  The effect was absolutely dazzling!

Christina Ricci in Alberta Ferretti

For the premier of her new film “Speed Racer” on the 29 April in London, the actress was wearing a black sleevless dress, from the next fall/winter collection by Alberta Ferretti.

The collaboration between Giorgio Armani and Alicia Keys is now settled. The renowned Italian designer and the world-famous pop star are very close tanks to a strong friendship. Alicia loves the elegant and contemporary style of Armani who has dresses her on several occasions and designed her entire “As I am tour” wardrobe.

For her exhibitions Alicia will wear garments of the Armani’s collections that have been realized for her and the dancers on several colours. Among the creations of the designer there is a crocodile waistcoat, with Swarovski crystals, to be worn with the jeans Armani dedicated to her.

Dancers and musicians will wear a range of garments of the Emporio Armani collection.

Christian Dior will dress the Hungarian actress Andrea Osvart for the first evening of the Festival di Sanremo. It’s the first time the French maison go on stage at the Ariston theatre.

For Bianca Guaggero the Florentine designer Roberto Cavalli has designed some evening gowns that have been realized exclusively for the occasion.

The designers that will dress the two actress are seven in all. The names that are already known, besides Christian Dior and Roberto Cavalli, are Versace and the fashion house Gianfranco Ferrè.

Let’s continue our review of the new 2008 spring summer ad campaigns that, since January have started filling the pages of fashion magazines all over the world. Christian Dior maison has chosen Jessica Stam and Coco Rocha, photographed by Craig McDean, for its campaign. The whole ad is pervaded with thirties fashion while the first thing that attracts attention is the predominance of black and white.

Alessia Marcuzzi, the presenter of the 8^th edition of the Italian “Big Brother”, has chosen the elegance of the designer Alberta Ferretti. She has already worn a dress from the Alberta Ferretti’s 2008 s/s collection and a coat from the f/w one in occasion of the press conference. For the whole edition of the TV show she will wear exclusively dresses and accessories of the new spring-summer collection by Alberta Ferretti.

There will be a real show, of fashion and music, for the Roberto Cavalli runway that is taking place today in Milan. The designer has asked Francesco Sarcina, the frontman of the Italian band “Le Vibrazioni”, to sign the soundtrack that will follow his men’s collection.

The 14 minutes composition, “Funky Horse”, has been written and produced by Sarcina who will sing in English for the occasion and will be followed by unusual instruments like the percephone and the xilofono.

And that’s not all! The Spice Girls will be present at the show, as exceptional guests. The girl-band has worn outfits realized by Roberto Cavalli during his whole tournèe.
