Sometime other artistic expression like music can be the inspirations of designers.

The D&G Fall/Winter 09/10 collection is a tribute to the Opera with its opulence of garments and stages. Shapes are magnificent realized on the balloon skirts and drape dresses, guêpières are completed with theatrical sleeves and military jackets are worn on straight pants.

The Cannes Film Festival has concluded and has given us a myriad of fabulous red carpets, each of which we saw a parade of celebrities with dresses and accessories of the best designers of the international panorama.

As always the Italian designer labels have been selected from numerous stars who have worn the creations of the most prestigious designers like Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani… obviously other great international fashion houses are not missed among which one of the preffered ones have been Christian Dior.

The very beautiful Mila Jovovich, for the closing evening of this edition of the film festival, has chosen a turquouise dress by Versace.

Sean Penn, president of the jury for the assignment of the Gold Palm, wore a stylish tuxedo by Giorgio Armani.  

Tiny and discreet or big like soap bubbles,  colourful and lively or tone upon tone, the pois are printed on the dresses, the pants, the summer skirts, they brighten up the jackets and they are put on tops and jerseys like drops of water.

The pois are exploding in the Spring/Summer collections together with another evergreen, the sripes. A familiar print, especially in the beautiful seasons when they are suggested in the classic black and white or navy style (for understanding: the style of the cruise ships with the typical blue and white, and sometimes also red, colours) ending in a range of multicolours.

Welcome to the flared pants, bellbottom jeans and wide-legged pants, and the bigger the better. The new season sees a great comeback: the bellbottom trend, that has dominated the catwalks for the new Spring/Summer collection and now it is ready to establish itself in the windows of all fashion shops and in our closets.

From the tight thigh and flared bottom, in perfect 70’s style, to the wide-legged, the bellbottom pants are the latest trend (or it would be better to say: the big comeback) of the new season.

Over flared, the pants of Prada ( pictures above) with showy prints and of ultra soft fabric, in denim. The wide-legged ones by D&G Dolce&Gabbana ( picture below on the right) and in silk the Roberto Cavalli high-waisted pants(picture below on the left).
