Let’s continue talking about ‘08/’09 fall-winter collections for men. Today we look at Monday’s catwalks that have seen the collections of Roberto Cavalli, John Richmond and Gucci.
 

The first thing we notice about Roberto Cavalli’s fashion show is a return to a more masculine look. This time extreme trends make a room for elegance, still keeping some transgressions. The favourite materials are velvet, for tuxedos, cashmere and leather, for the jackets. The soundtrack of the fashion show was a rock composition played by the Italian band, “Le Vibrazioni”.

The rock style shows itself on the Gucci’s catwalk too, but this time it does with the clothes and in a perfect mix of contemporaneity and tradition. Folk clothes find their inspiration in the tradition of east country, like Russia, and alternate with extremely modern element in the middle of the hussar style and the disco one.

The Gucci men are real rock stars getting their style from different worlds and sceneries to create their unique wardrobe. It’s a distinctive style that goes from the ‘70s and rock, with tight suits and undershirts, to Russia and the gipsy world, with hussar style decorations, precious fabrics like silk, cashmere and fur.

John Richmond gives free play to his evident rock inspiration. His entire ‘08/’09 fall winter collection seems to be originated from the notes of a rock music.

For the next fall-winter John Richmond men will wear deep red, blue and purple velvet suits, inspired by the Rolling Stones’ wardrobe and enrich it with dandy details like pashmina, London style hats, accessories and ankle boots.

Giorgio Armani dedicates his Emporio Armani collection to the respect for the human being and his beauty, to the pure passions, the return to values and to the real elegance. Warm and roomy garments are the protagonist of the 2008/2009 fall winter men’s collection, for the city as for the mountain. The main piece is blazer, to be worn with full trousers  in jogging-style. Accessories are protagonist in this collection as they literally cover man from head to foot.

January, 13: second day of catwalks in Milan. Lars Nilsson begins as the new Ferrè fashion house’s art director with the 2008/2009 fall-winter collection for men. The Swedish designer has chosen to turn the usual catwalk into an apartment that would be ideal for a cultivated, modern-day man like the one the collection is created for. It’s a first calm and at the same time definite, attempt for Nilsson.

There will be a real show, of fashion and music, for the Roberto Cavalli runway that is taking place today in Milan. The designer has asked Francesco Sarcina, the frontman of the Italian band “Le Vibrazioni”, to sign the soundtrack that will follow his men’s collection.

The 14 minutes composition, “Funky Horse”, has been written and produced by Sarcina who will sing in English for the occasion and will be followed by unusual instruments like the percephone and the xilofono.

And that’s not all! The Spice Girls will be present at the show, as exceptional guests. The girl-band has worn outfits realized by Roberto Cavalli during his whole tournèe.

Parisian band Rock&Roll will star in Roberto Cavalli’s Spring 2008 menswear campaign, which will debut later this month.

The band is composed of five members: lead singer Gricha Berekachvili, bass player Luc Arnal, guitarist and second voice Matthias Cadéac d’Arbaud, Vincent-John Soimaud on the tambourine, and drummer Paul Louis Viguier. Cavalli said the quintet “embodies the aristocratic-chic Parisian style and the energy and force of rock music.” That’s the reason why he has linked the image of this band (named Rock&Roll Best New Band of 2006 by French rock magazine Inrockuptible) to his men’s collection.

From January 12, 2008 the Men’s Milan Fashion Week will take place. That’s the internationally famous Italian fashion show that sees the presentation of the men’s luxury prêt-à-porter and is organized by the Italian Camera Nazionale della Moda together with the women’s Fashion Week. We will be there personally, like every year, until the end of the fashion shows to see what the designers are proposing for the next Fall-Winter season.

The Unofficial model, for example, features bicolour leather strap (brown, yellow, blue and black). The collection consists of a range of watch going from the most sports models to the most fashion and ones. Some of them, like the Codename watch, have a double versions: they can be with the leather strap or with the stainless steel wristlet.
All the watches of this collection feature quartz movement, stainless steel case and mineral glass and are water-resistant to 30 or 50 m.

The actor Daniele Pecci worn an elegant suit by Gianfranco Ferrè to attend the television programme “Il treno dei desideri”, the Rai Saturday night show hosted by Antonella Clerici.

The episode that saw the beautiful actor of the Italian TV drama “Orgoglio” as a guest of the show was broadcasted on October 6.
