On 19 March, the long P of Pirelli PZero will be overnight the initial of the Sicilian capital. The PZero Rex, iconic sneaker of the collection PZero spring-summer 2010, we be tinged with pink in a special regional limited edition in honour of Sicily and Palermo.

Sold exclusively by Giglio, the leading multi-brand boutiques in the city, the shoe is in black saffiano calfskin with the label PZero edged with pink contrast and the high performance TPU black sole with pink logo. In the sockliner, next to the long P, the words Limited Edition for Giglio is obviously marked in pink.

In an unusual expressive graft, Palermo - the cultural, artistic and economic development capital of the Mediterranean - combines its Baroque, Arab and neoclassical architecture with the industrial design of Pirelli PZero.

The regional limited edition of Rex PZero pink and black will be presented Friday, March 19 from 18.00 at the boutique Giglio in. A great happening, open to the customers of the famous store, will host some Inter soccer players away for the big match League Palermo-Inter. Exceptional testimonial of the evening, the top Martina Colombari, always an admirer of the world PZero.

PZERO is a transversal hi-tech spirit project, built between marketing and fashion, with strong roots anchored in industrial design. In 2002 Pirelli clothing reborn with a new sign, emblem of modernism: an aerodynamic proportioned P with a big dot. Yesterday, the production Pirelli included raincoats, overcoats, waterproof coats made in the then unknown rubber. Today, the project has an experimental, high-technology soul. Born with only two objects that have become icon (a sailing shoe and a performing jacket), the collection today is a total look: clothing for men and women, shoes for adult and kid, handbags, watches, rubber boats and skis.

To promote the Spring/Summer collection 2010, the fashion house of Ermanno Scervino has given birth to a new ad campaign different from the traditional ones as it is based on a video. The sort – movie includes three different sets each one dealing with a different image of woman.

The selected frames of the movie became the pictures of the new Ermanno Scervino ad campaign. The entire short – movie instead has been intended for the new medias. Protagonist of the video is the super model Helena Christensen, while the director is the photographer and film-maker Francesco Carozzini.

We have already talked about the Prada Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign and we announced on that occasion who is the new face representing of the fashion house. Today we would like to share the first picture of that campaign featuring the model Rasa Zukauskaite. The real protagonist of the shoot the handbag that catch immediately the attention.

The main colours of this new ad, as this first shoot shows, are the nuances of gray and light brown illuminated by the sparkling jewel detail and the glossy look of the new Prada bag. The only note in contrast with the softness of the shoot is the vibrant lipstick shaking the picture up.

Gucci confirms Natasha Poly as the protagonist of its Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. The super model, photographed under a deep blue sky, show the new collection designed by the talented Frida Giannini. Bags and accessories are close up on the pictures. The authors of this new campaign for the next season Gucci are Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.

Tomorrow, November 20, the movie-documentary “Valentino – The Last Emperor” will come out in Italian theatres. The movie is directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Vanity Fair and GQ journalist who has followed Valentino for years with his camera.

The picture, presented during the last edition of Venice Film Festival, deals with the career of the world-renewed Valentino Garavani and has already been a real success in United States. The movie is object of lots of consents for its nomination at the Oscars.

Both the movie and its eventual nomination are a well-deserved celebration of the exceptional work  of one of the premium designers bringing Italian Fashion worldwide.

Today we would like to share some images from the photo shooting of the new Fergi Ad campaign, made exceptionally in one of our fashion stores.

And that’s how the Giglio woman store transformed into a fashion studio for a day, lending its spacious spaces to Fergi and their Ad campaign. The campaign was shot by the photographer Luca Lo Bosco, who by the way is the author of the extraordinary homepages at Giglio.com. The clothes were chosen from the Giglio store, for the occasion, by the staff Giglio.

Yesterday we saw celebrities wearing Alberta Ferretti in occasion of this 62° edition of Cannes Film Festival. Instead today we’ll focus on an other designer who has rather conquered the red carpet of this special event: of course we are talking about Roberto Cavalli.

His unique style has really been the protagonist at Cannes this year. Numerous stars have in fact chosen Roberto Cavalli dresses for the events and premieres.

For instant, Asia Argento, who we spoke about wearing Alberta Ferretti in the previous post. For the premiere of Vengeance and the Chopart Trophy Event the actress wore two different Roberto Cavalli creations.

In occasion of the Chopard Trophy Event celebrities as Eva Erzigova, Clotide Coureau and the model Moran Atias all wore Roberto Cavalli gowns.

Also Eleonora Abagnato presented herself in Roberto Cavalli for the Chopard Trophy Event as well as the premiere of Looking for Eric.

At the yacht of the designer himself the famous American singer Mariah Carey showed up in a chain printed Roberto Cavalli maxi dress looking splendid.

From the 8 to 30 of May the Giglio Boutique will be the place of encounter where art, design and photography and of course fashion meet.

As many times before the Giglio Group has decided to promote an Art exhibition in one of their fashion stores, this time it’s the Sicilian  photographer and artist Guido Giuttari who will expose his new exhibition Art meets materials. A designed combination and mixture of colours, where art and materials meets to create a decorative furnishings perfect for a fresh home milieu. The Sicilian Designer has also exposed not only in New York at Poliform but also at Harrods.

The opening cocktail will take place at 6.30 PM the 8 of May, in Giglio Boutique at Piazza Crispi 9, Palermo. The designed objects will be exposed until the 30 of May.

Except the window exposition  during the whole event, decorative panels, designed by the talented artist, will be exposed in the boutique as well.
