Elegant and bright blue is the most in fashion colour this year. It was appreciated last Summer in all of its vibrant and powerful shades, and in Winter blue is still one of the most desired colours.

Fall/Winter collections 09/10 of several fashion houses, such as Dior and Versace, are full of this colour that is a perfect alternative to the more classic black. So against the conviction that want this colour as a Spring/summer nuance here they come knit dresses, coats, sweaters, bags and shoes with different blue tones, from the most delicate ones to the strongest.

Worn alone for the whole outfit or in combination with other colours, with a touch of red or white blue will be a success for our Holiday looks.

A gorgeous Lucy Liu has been photographed by Mario Sorretini to cover the April issue of Vogue China. For cover shoot she wore a creation by Roberto Cavalli. It’s a strapless minidress with striped bustier and balloon skirt of the Roberto Cavalli S/S collection 2009.

Among the other look she shows up inside the fashion magazine one that stands out is a Versace golden tone minidress of the S/S collection 2009.

For her fourth consecutive hosting of the Italian “the Big Brother” Alessia Marcuzzi chose Versace fashion house for all her wardrobe of the ninth broadcast edition.

The Whitney Museum of American Art took place in New York like every year. Versace sponsored the 2008 edition. The 2008/09 fall winter woman collection is a real tribute to Art, the result of the collaboration between the designer and Tim Roeloff who re invented the medusa (ndr: the icon of the Versace maison) print through his art.

Donatella Versace’ s new project focused on the sponsoring of the annual gala and of the Studio Party to support the art and the Whitney Museum. The guests of the event were all wearing Versace creations which turned the night into an ideal fashion show for the maison.

Christina Ricci picked a 2008 fall winter Atelier Versace dress; Juliette Lewis went for gorgeous Versace platform combined with a bustier dress, and Helena Christensen wore a one shoulder dress from the2008/09 Versace fall winter collection.

Patrick Dempsey, testimonial of the Versace man collection, was there too of course, wearing a silk and wool two buttons suit from the 2008/09 fall winter Versace man collection. Sting wore a suit from the very same collection, he came together with his wife Trudy Styler who was wearing Versace too.

Sound that designer Donatella Versace and daughter Allegra would be wearing outfits from their very own maison.

Queens of heart at the Milano Moda Donna, these are the women who are going to wear Versace next summer.

The new Versace collection goal is to exalt the figure, and it does so through tied mini dresses for splendid legs or slim jackets. The use of metallic fabrics follow the figure, and interesting details and sparkling applications are widely used too.

The heart and the visible zip are the main element of the Versace wearing, and the yellow sole is the trend for shoes.

Urban soul, tri dimensional graphical games, lurex and latex fabrics effect are the leading lines of the 2008/09 Versace fall winter collection by Donatella Versace. A collection entirely dominated by the meeting of shapes, volumes and geometrical suggestions, where an architectural design orientated tailoring comes from.

Versace fashion for next season is an extraordinary melange of femininity and severity. A showing off of décolleté and backs well in evidence, draperies ending up in pockets, small dresses and fabric games as to emphasize sometimes breasts, sometimes narrow wastes, they all meet in Versace collection with a triumph of architectural shapes, geometrical volumes, urban glamorous fabrics and colours.

Blue is the leading colour on dresses and shoulder items, leaving the floor, from time to time, to bright colours such as yellow, fuchsia and purple. Monochrome is the main choice of the collection, but attention diverts as well to German artist Tim Roelofs and his works, an inspiration for the Versace new printed fantasy.

Actress wore this luxury one shoulder dress for the premier of “The Burning Plain” presented in Venice at the Sala Grande.

Charlize Theron, featuring in the movie together with Kim Basinger already picked a Versace dress from the Versace Resort 2009 collection for the photo call before the premiere, a sober dress compared to others, but perfect on her figure. The taffeta fuchsia silk dress was completed by a roger Vivier patent leather sandal that we noticed already when combined with the Gucci dress the actress showed off to the party for the movie documentary “Valentino: The last Emperor” .

Summer is at its peak and cold seasons not very close yet. Nonetheless, when it comes to fashion, stars don’t even care about climatic situations.

The red carpets of the most glamorous and posh events, from spring till now, have been a perfect fashion show, and not just for the spring - summer creations. Movie premieres, parties, kermesse and fahion events have been the occasions to show off in advance the new fall - winter 2008/09 collections of which stars enjoyed straight away, while ordinary people will have to wait for them to be accessible.

Roberto Cavalli’s fall - winter collection was a hit among stars. Lucy Liu, Ester Canadas and Leona Lewis have already been wearing over hot seasons numerous Cavalli‘s creations.

Fendi prefers a metropolitan style, New York is the background for the new campaign realized in April at the Madison Square Garden, guided by Karl Lagerfeld, and testimonial Raquel Zimmermann.

For Dior, Model Daria Werbowy beauty has been captured by photographer Craig Mcdean. She wears an orange tailleur with three quarter sleeves and the 61 Bag with half circle and rigid handle round her arm perfectly in harmony with the 60s style of the Christian Dior fall - winter collection 2008/09.

Elegant, casual and non conformist at the same time: this is Versace’s man for the spring summer collection 2009. Soft scarves replacing ties and sandals replacing shoes. The chromatic element is essential for this collection that goes from the warm and calm colours of the desert and the land to the more vivid coral red, blue, strawberry red, green and light blue. These colours are present with all their possible fascinating shadows.

The Cannes Film Festival has concluded and has given us a myriad of fabulous red carpets, each of which we saw a parade of celebrities with dresses and accessories of the best designers of the international panorama.

As always the Italian designer labels have been selected from numerous stars who have worn the creations of the most prestigious designers like Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani… obviously other great international fashion houses are not missed among which one of the preffered ones have been Christian Dior.

The very beautiful Mila Jovovich, for the closing evening of this edition of the film festival, has chosen a turquouise dress by Versace.

Sean Penn, president of the jury for the assignment of the Gold Palm, wore a stylish tuxedo by Giorgio Armani.  

The tour for the promotion of the long awaited movie “Sex and the City” is moving from city to city.  For the premiere in Berlin the lead character Sarah Jessica Parker,  alias Carry Bradshow, wore a custom-made strapless dress by Versace.

Another premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, another red carpet.  Also this time we take a look at the most interesting looks of the stars who crossed the red carpet.

For the premiere of the film Blindness Eva Longoria chose a turquoise dress by Versace.  For the presentation of Kung Fu Panda she chose to wear an fairy-tale one shoulder dress in an ivory colour marked with silver detail and ending in tulle, from the summer 2008 collection again by Versace.  Definitely a red carpet style!

Lucy Liu on the other hand chose a dress by Roberto Cavalli. The dress is a creation from the Fall 2008 collection with enriching flower embroidery.

Also at the premiere, the beautiful Indian actress, Aishwarya Rai,  chose a luxurious embroided dress by Giorgio Armani.

The 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival has officially opened and has started off with the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ as its first event.  Crossing the red carpet were a lot of celebrities that have come to show off their marvelous out-fits.  There are a lot of designer names that have been awarded the preferance of the actresses and the celebrities that have participated in the Cannes Film Festival in their creations.

Among these a radiant Eva Longoria has shown off a lively turquouise coloured dress from the Spring Summer collection by Versace Couture.  In Versace the model Bar Refaeli as well.

Mischa Barton, at Cannes to promote her new film ‘You and I’, has participated in the premiere of the movie ‘Blindness’ wearing a dark indigo coloured silk dress from the Alberta Ferretti Fall 2008 collection.

And we conclude with the queen of the event, or better yet the protagonist of the film ‘Blindness’, Cate Blanchett who wore, for the occasion, a creation by Giorgio Armani composed from soft and voluminous rouches gathered in a bouquet on the shoulder.
