After the big success of the Gucci Hysteria collection, Frida Giannini created a new line of accessories for the fall – winter season 2008/09. This collection, like the prêt a porter, is inspired to Russia, and its name reminds that too.

Studs, fringed items, suede trims and pendants decorate bags and shoes of the Babouska collection, for a rich mix of folk and rock style. On this occasion, the typical Gucci crest detail, that is the symbol of the fashion house introduced since the Hysteria collection, changes its shape into a heart, becoming a pendant.

We personally shared the pleasure of the beautiful scenario of the Gianicolo in a splendid Rome dressing Gucci.

To celebrate the 70 birthday of the first Gucci shop in Rome, Frida Giannini presented last night an incredible fashion show of the Gucci Cruise collection 2009.

Many beautiful models would wear the splendid clothes, names like Lily Donaldson and Natasha Poli. Lots of celebrities joined the event, Francesca Neri, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Vittoria Belvedere, Claire Danes, Isabella Ferrari, Paola Turci, Valeria Golino and Riccardo Scamarcio, Silvio Muccino, Lapo Elkann with his father Alain, and Rosy Greco.

To sum up, this is what Frida Giannini said about the collection that we will be able to admire in the stores in between winter and spring 2009: “ An hippy – chic style, a bit like Talita Getty and Lee Radzwill. Inspired by the jet set of those times”.

The Gucci  Hysteria collection for next autumn – winter 2008/09 suggests new folk inspirations adding a new texture to the previous summer version of the bags collection. It is the upholstery chalk coloured texture with leather trims. Guccissima leather and the GG texture, icons of the maison, the GG crystal texture that up to now reflect the summery colours, are going to embody the winter flavour with icy and chocolate tonalities.

Thin shapes and light figures for the man’s spring summer 2009 Gucci collection. Low waist and tight trousers combined with cardigans and slim shirts, or, very well shaped dresses and fitting leather jackets: this is how Frida Giannini imagine the man who dresses Gucci.

Gucci’s man is not scared to dare, he plays with colours and fantasies, like the leading flowery fantasies of the collection, and most of all he plays with accessories, painted shoes and fluorescent maxi bags.

Hundred per cent Gucci for singer Rihanna in whose honour Gucci maison organized a private party dedicated to the new autumnal Hysteria bags collection and to her of course!
Ryanna never hid her passion for Gucci (a mutual passion we must say). She wore a leather Gucci studded jacket from the Autumn Gucci collection 2008, a wide gown with golden trims and trendy gloss paint half boots, mixing in elegance her gypsy style and her rock soul.
Rihanna also confessed her love for Gucci’s accessories and dresses, remembering her first Gucci’s article, a pair of wonderful python-skin sandals with the well known bamboo icon of the maison.

… THE JOY COLLECTION BY GUCCI

Sparkling, fresh, sporty and dynamic styles, basically this collection is ideal for the spring/summer:  it is the Joy bag collection by Gucci  that is recently added to the already vast collection of bags and accessories designed by Frida Giannini. 

Joy is the perfect name for these bags as they can be used everywhere at any moment of the day with a fresh and fun style.  From work to free time, the Gucci Joy bags are so versatile, light, practical and, above all, have lively styles that can be taken to every occasion.

The bags are available in different sizes and colours and can be chosen in the model most adapted to our requirements and personal style.  Other than the normal double G icon fabric, it is added in the collection, characterized by a modern mood, a new material, the dialux, that is a particular glossy black material.  But the Joy collection does not stop at the bags, there are also delightful cosmetic cases and other accessories, all dedicated to the good mood.

… THE HYSTERIA COLLECTION

For spring summer 2008 the maison Gucci started off with a new collection of bags with the concept  halved between the desire of tradition and culture of the modernity, it is called: the Hysteria Collection.

Every bag of this collection preserves and represents, in fact, an ambivalent content, revealed on one hand by the historical emblem of the Florentine fashion house, that is one of the most representative symbols of the maison’s story, and on the other hand by the new materials and shapes that expresses the contemporaneity of the generation driving the brand.

The emblem, introduced for the first time by Guccio Gucci, and now reintroduced by Frida Giannini with the new pret-a-porter, distinguishes all the models of the new Hysteria collection.  Made out of different and rich materials, like the patent leather and the soft leather, and enriched of light-gold-tone metallic accessories, these bags (realized in a new range of colours), are the hit bag of the season, as always in the story of Gucci.
